While trips through Global Exchange Costa Rica primarily focus on Service Work in local communities, they also allow for enriching excursions after a week of hard work!  Costa Rica, though small, is a lush country filled with stunning landscapes, thrilling attractions, and inviting people.  GECR incorporates excursions into every trip to give participants a broader sense of the country and its people.  Don't miss out on experiencing the many thrills and joys that Costa Rica has to offer!

Stunning Beaches

Costa Rica has two beautiful coastlines.  The country is small enough that one can easily travel to both the Pacific and the Caribbean coasts on a sunny weekend.  Whether you prefer a beach buzzing with people or a secluded, peaceful spot to spend the day, the beaches in Costa Rica are enjoyed by all.

Ziplines

Costa Rica has miles upon miles of untouched rainforest. Although much of this rainforest is carefully preserved and protected, we still have the opportunity to see it!  Take a ride on a zipline above the tree canopy with well-trained guides! Ziplines reveal the beauty of the untouched rainforest in Costa Rica while providing a thrill for more adventurous types.

Nano's Waterfall

In the town of Orosi in the Costa Rican central valley, travelers can go visit local coffee farmer, Nano.  Nano has been inviting people to tour his property for years.  With hospitality and humor, he engages visitors and shares with them his secrets about the surrounding nature, a stunning view of the town below, and a 30-foot waterfall. Nano is a delightful and unforgettable tour guide!

Rainforest Tours

There are guided tours in many of Costa Rica's national parks that take visitors through the rainforest.  Rainforest tours are an excellent opportunity to see wildlife and enjoy the highly protected nature in Costa Rica.  Guides are friendly, well-trained, and love what they do!
